The purpose of the Fostering and Achieving Culture Equity and Sensitivity in the Health Professions (F.A.C.E.S.) Internship is to provide clinical experience for pre-health professional students who are exploring career options and exposure to critical issues of cultural competence within the health care system. The program is a collaborative effort among University Physicans Healthcare Hospital at Kino Campus (UPH-K), Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) Hospital, Pima Community College and the Office of Outreach and Multicultural Affairs at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. The course is open to students enrolled at the University of Arizona (CPH 393A; 3 units of superior/pass/fail credit) and Pima Community College (BIO 289; 3 units of pass/fail credit).

All application materials must be submitted online no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 15 for the upcoming Spring semester and March 15 for upcoming Fall semester. If this date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or UA holiday, the deadline is the next business day.
F.A.C.E.S. Internship / Office of Outreach and Multicultural AffairsPlan for at least one course that can be dropped or retained depending on the internship admissions decision. Please ensure that you will not have any class schedule conflicts in the event of acceptance into the internship. If accepted into the internship, the course will be added to your schedule by the FACES Office through a manual registration process.
