Talking Medicine Circle brings together American Indian undergraduate and graduate students to meet and network with faculty and staff from the Health Professions Colleges (i.e. Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacy, and Nursing). The Talking Circle is an American Indian tradition recognized by many tribes that brings people, of different cultural customs and beliefs, together to discuss a topic in an egalitarian and non-confrontational manner.

Who Should Attend?

• Arizona Undergraduate and Graduate (Master’s and Doctoral) students pursuing a health profession
• Faculty and Staff of any health profession school
• Any health professional (MD, DO, Nurse, PharmD, Health Educator, etc.) that supports American Indian students and communities
• Community members that support American Indian students pursuing a health profession

How Long is the Talking Medicine Circle?

• Usually 3 — 3.5 hours on a Friday evening

How Often is the Talking Medicine Circle?

• Two times per year: in the Fall and Spring semesters
